Winter Care: Tips That For A Better Maternal Health

by RAKI WRIGHT

As busy moms, our health is prioritized much after the health of our young ones. Especially for newer moms, this holds true due to their busy schedules.

However, discounting your health while the seasons change can lead to problems like reduced immunity and general ill health. In this blog, we are going to talk about five nutrients that play a pivotal role in women’s health, especially for winter healthcare.

Without any delays, let’s get started!

Vitamin C:

In the colder seasons, all of our immunity systems get a tad compromised. Some may experience a runny nose, while others become more susceptible to catching the flu.

Since there is a lack of daylight in winter, your body does not receive its daily dose of vitamin D. In such a season, especially when we are moving from warmer weather to the cold, sudden illnesses may strike without a warning.

To keep yourself and your family safe, you must start taking vitamins early on. By taking the recommended dose of real vitamins, your body can keep a stable level while preventing the aforementioned detriments.

Also, since we require vitamin D to utilize and process calcium, this is a must-have in the winter healthcare routine. It will also help fortify your skin to protect it from the harsh effects that winters bring, keeping you healthy all over.

Look after your metabolism:

Weight fluctuation woes run aplenty when winter strikes. Sedentary jobs without any exercise do not help your case when it is always too cold to exercise outside.

However, you don’t need to feel the frustration of lowered productivity since it is all about your metabolism. Instead, curate a specific diet to keep yourself and the family healthy.

Not only do leafy greens, and fresh veggies improve your liver health, but also promote regular detoxification.

Keep your mental health in check:

Winters can bring out the gloomy phase of several children and adults. If not addressed on time, it can lead to seasonal depression, which lasts about 3-4 months.

Hence, it is critical to keep a check on your B12 since it is responsible for your brain’s health and effective weight management. Take a tablet every day to prevent seasonal depression, sudden weight loss or gain, and poor cognition.

Additionally, seek the help of a therapist to assist your recovery.

Shift your skincare routine:

Winter drafts and cold temperatures can be harsh on your skin. This can lead to chapped lips, dehydrated eyes, itchy arms, and other such problems.

When left unchecked, you may experience cracked heels that go too deep, acne breakouts on dry patches, and lackluster skin. Instead of following your regular regime, switch your skincare routine to accommodate the harshness of the winter.

Use heavier and intensely moisturizing products that can create a protective barrier around your skin to protect it from the weather.

Wrapping Up:

These nutrients not just make winter a more fulfilling and fun time to spend with your loved ones, but also keeps the entire family healthy. We recommend getting your levels checked before you start taking multivitamins so that you know which ones you need to pay extra attention to!
