The key to keeping it together is planning. Here are five easy ways to save your sanity.

Family. Pets. Work. Home. There is no shortage of busyness in your life and you need all the help you can get!

Simplify your routine by taking a few shortcuts. You will be amazed at what a big difference a few small changes can make.

Hire a Maid

If you think it sounds pretentious, consider the concept for a moment. You work eight hours a day and have a family to take care of.

If you have the funds and need extra help, why is it wrong to hire someone to do a great, thorough cleaning of your home? If you live in the area, check out apartment cleaning San Fernando Valley CA for awesome service.

Prepare Freezer Meals

A much healthier alternative to boxed or packaged dinners, freezer meals are a lifesaver for busy families.

Spend a day over the weekend chopping, preparing and packaging a week’s worth of dinners and pop them in the freezer. When you get home from work in the afternoon, all you need to do is defrost and reheat.

Your family is being fed fresh, whole foods instead of chemicals and preservatives.

Load the Dishwasher Nightly

Dishes tend to pile up over the course of the day, so designate someone in your house to dishwasher duty. It can be one of your children or your spouse; it doesn’t have to be you!

Every night, make sure the dishwasher is loaded and the kitchen is clean before going to bed. Waking up to a tidy kitchen is so satisfying and is one less thing to worry about when you get ready for the day.

Have a Drop Station by the Door

When the kids get home the first thing they want to do is dump their school things and get a snack. That’s all well and good, but a pile of their junk by the door is not.

Alleviate this extra clutter by assigning a place near the door for their backpacks, jackets and sports gear. It can be as simple as a row of coat hooks or as elaborate as individual lockers for each child.

Buy a Whiteboard Calendar

These are cheap, convenient and so easy to use. Buy a simple blank whiteboard calendar and hang it in a central area like the kitchen or living room.

Write down all appointments, special events and reminders. Cleanup is as easy as erasing and the surfaces are usually magnetic for added convenience.

As a parent, you know that life never slows down. Make a few small changes in your life and watch as organization and your sanity begin to fall into place.
