Holiday Cheer Disney Style: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas

by RAKI WRIGHT

The holiday season can be busy, stressful, and even overwhelming for many people. There’s so much to do, so many people to see, and the days get shorter and shorter. Sometimes, you need a little magic to get back some holiday cheer.

So… do you want to do something truly magical this holiday season?

As one of the seven best attractions in Orlando, Walt Disney World has always been a place of whimsical joy for children and adults alike. Now, the House of Mouse is living true to its word of being the most magical place on earth by offering a new way to celebrate the winter holiday: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

From November 8th to December 22nd, Disney lovers have a chance to celebrate Christmas with Mickey. The event takes place in Magic Kingdom Park Walk Disney World Resort that begins at 7 PM and runs until midnight. Guests will be able to meet their favorite Disney characters in their holiday attire. Guests may even spy a few underappreciated faves such as Jack Skellington (Sandy Claws) or Scrooge McDuck.

Attractions to See

What’s a trip to Disney World without riding the rides? Even during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas, several popular rides are still available for you to enjoy! Some must-see choices include Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Space Mountain, and more. You should also make the time to catch the Christmastime Parade, which features St. Nick on his sleigh.

Overnight Accommodations

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs until midnight, and after hours of fun, you will want to skip catching a cab or driving a distance for home. Luckily, there are several comfortable hotels in Orlando, Florida, near Disney World that you can rely on.

Hyatt Place Orlando Lake Buena Vista

Located less than a mile from Disney World, Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista is just a 10-minute walk from Disney World. Guests will find helpful amenities such as 24/7 dining options for when you want a break from all the tasty treats at Disney World, or you’re just looking for a late-night snack. As part of Disney World’s Good Neighbor Hotel program, the hotel staff are well versed in the workings of Disney and will be more than happy to help assist you with planning your Disney vacation.

Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort

If you’re planning for a longer stay, Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort offers condo-style suites with full kitchens and outdoor grilling areas for guests. This resort has a bit of everything for everyone, such as miniature golf, karaoke, face painting, and even outdoor movie showings. Best of all, for a small fee, guests have access to a shuttle to transport them to Disney World.

Waldorf Astoria Orlando

If you’re looking for a hotel with a more romantic feeling, then Waldorf Astoria Orlando is the hotel for you. Surrounded by 482-acres of nature preserve, this resort has 22 treatment rooms and private cabanas. With a calming and luxurious feeling, this resort is perfect for recovering from the hustle and bustle of a theme park. Which is important considering the holidays can be stressful enough.

You won’t want to miss your chance to see Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas or the chance to make this Christmas really something special. You’ll find yourself falling in love with your childhood all over again, all by experiencing a little de-stressing Christmas magic.
