Toys can be incredibly hit or miss with kids, but even if they love a toy, it can quickly break or get left behind in favor of a new toy. Making a toy with your kid is a fun and exciting process that they will love almost as much as their toy.

Easy DIY Toys To Make With Your Children at Home

Here are some easy DIY toys to make with your children at home that they will have fun with for a long time.

Felt Plushies

Using felt and sewing is a craft that can be fun for children of any age, and it’s an excellent way for them to express their creativity. Everyone can make little plushies of cats or dinosaurs, or they can go off into the abstract and make spooky-looking monsters.

Pool Noodle Lightsabers

Star Wars is a franchise that kids worldwide love, and they especially love to play with lightsabers. Many of these toy versions are hard plastic that can break easily, but you can make your own with pool noodles at home. This toy is easy to make, but it’s also safe and won’t break easily.

Spin Tops

Little knick-knacks that make funny noises or move in weird ways always seem to be something that kids love. You and your kids can easily make many kinds of spinning tops with all sorts of household materials. There are many customization options as well, such as different colors, materials, weights, etc.

Toy Vehicles

This craft will take some more time and attention, but it’s incredibly rewarding when everything is put together and moving. All you need for this are some cardboard boxes, craft sticks, and scissors. This DIY toy has a lot of potential for kids to be creative with what they choose to make and how.

These easy DIY toys to make with your children at home can last longer than some toys you buy at the store, but they will eventually break as well. What matters is not the toy’s longevity but the experience of making something with your child. Both of you will have fun and feel closer with each toy you make.
