Having flowers in and around your home is a great way to connect to nature, and help improve the look of your space. But while many people will go with fresh flowers in their homes, more and more individuals and families are using long-lasting dried flowers in their decor choices.

There are many ways to use dried flowers in your home that can look absolutely incredible throughout your home. They can provide a much different look to traditional flowers, and can contribute well to a rustic and unique space.
In an effort to inspire you about the beauty and aesthetics of dried flowers, this article is going to go over a few ideas and options for decorating your house with dried flowers.
Frame Them
One of the most tried and true ways to put your dried flowers on display is to frame them. Because these flowers last a very long time, they can easily be put into a frame and displayed as art for months, or longer. You can choose any frame you like, along with any kind of flower that you like.
These look wonderful in a bedroom, in a living room, in a bathroom, or wherever you feel like displaying some naturally beautiful art. You could do a single stem or a few of them in a small frame, or load up a laeger frame with a variety of different dried flowers. You could purchase dried flowers and put them right into the frame yourself, but could also dry your own fresh flowers quite easily, too.
Make a Wreath or Other Unique Arrangement
Creating a unique arrangement with the dried flowers is another popular way to put them on display. While a simple dried flower on it’s own isn’t much to write home about, when you combine plenty of them into an arrangement, it can look absolutely amazing.
A popular option for this is a wreath. While it might take some time, effort, and a lot of dried flowers, you can certainly do it. This could be your attempt at a Christmas wreath, or you could simply create a wreath that can be displayed all year. You can feature a single type of dried flower, or can get more creative and colorful by using a variety of different ones.
In addition to a wreath, there are many other unique arrangements you can make to highlight the dried flowers, too.
Keep it Simple With a Vase
There are no rules when it comes to how you display dried flowers, so why not display them in a vase like you would any other flowers? Sure, they may not be as bright or as vibrant, but that doesn’t mean that they still can’t look absolutely incredible on display. They can be put just about anywhere that you would display traditional fresh flowers, and they can often be left there longer as dried flowers are very long-lasting.
Of course, feel free to get a little creative with the vase or container you decide to go with. As long as it fits with the theme or color of the room, don’t be afraid to go for it and think outside of the box. If you decide to go with larger dried plants like pampas grass, you may need a pot or something a little larger than a vase to properly display it.
Make Some Potpourri
Another great use for these dried flowers is to make your very own potpourri. While there are plenty of great home decor ideas to rejuvenate a home, having some potpourri around can be a great addition to any home.
Potpourri is a great way to add a subtle and natural scent into your home, while also looking beautiful at the same time. Depending on what flowers and other things you add, you can completely change how the potpourri looks and how it smells.
All you need in addition to your dried flowers are some herbs and spices to add to the scent, and there you have it. This can be put in a jar or bowl, or can even be put in a little sachet. Be sure to experiment making potpourri a few times, as you don’t want it to be too pungent, but still want to make sure it is noticeable.
Create Some Stunning Garland
Another solid choice for decorating with dried flowers is to create some garland. This garland can be hung from the ceiling, added to a wall, hung on bannisters, used to decorate stair railings, or even wrapped around pillars. It is as easy to make as attaching some dried flower heads or petals to string or rope, and then hanging the creation wherever you see fit.
Like with the wreath we mentioned earlier, building this garland can take some time and effort, but can certainly be done. While using a single flower can look great, don’t hesitate to mix and match in terms of colors, shapes, and sizes in order to make a more unique piece of art. These can also be as small as a couple of inches or up to multiple feet long.
Crush the Dried Flowers
A choice for displaying dried flowers that is quickly gaining more stream is simply crushing the dried flowers and then putting them on display. These can be put in small bowls, on plates, in jars, or even simply spread out in different locations in your home.
You can even float them in a small bowl of water for a great-looking and unique piece of decor. Of course, if you do this, be cognizant of the potential for a mess. If a child or pet knocks over your display of crushed dried flowers, it can lead to quite the annoying mess to clean up.
Any of these decorating ideas can be a great way to incorporate dried flowers into your home design. They are certainly different, but they can be just as beautiful and aesthetically-pleasing as fresh flowers.
