Delivery day; 4 essential things you need for after your baby’s birth

by RAKI WRIGHT

Bringing new life into the world is quite unbelievable. It is almost too good to be true. Most people consider childbirth quite a blessing that can not be replicated by anyone else.

No matter if this is your first child or your third one, delivery can be quite an emotional roller coaster. An infant can be pure bliss, but it is also quite overwhelming. There are a few things that you need to be prepared for before you go into labor and deliver your child. We have curated a list of things that you need to do to help you savor these moments instead of worrying about things when the time comes.

Make and freeze meals

As your due date comes closer, be mindful of preparing for certain things that you will not have time for later. Consider making meals beforehand and freezing them for ease and convenience after you come back from the hospital with your baby. This is a much better option than having to rely on things such as pre-packed meals and take-out from different restaurants. Your friends and family might initially help and get you some home-cooked meals, but your health is in your hand. You can find a ton of recipes online that are specifically for meals that can be frozen and reheated.

Get your household supplies beforehand

The last thing you need when you are busy with your infant at home is to find out that your detergent or even your toilet paper is finished. You will absolutely have no time to go to the market sleep-deprived, especially when your life has changed so dramatically. Stockpile certain things before your baby arrives so that you do not need to rush around the last moment. Get things such as kitchen towels, personal care products, toilet paper, soap, and even shampoo. These things are just a few that we need on a regular basis. You can even set up scheduled deliveries so that you don’t have to leave the house.

Prepare your baby gear

Just as you will not be able to step out of the house for your household supplies, you need to stockpile and prepare for all the baby gear that you shall need. These things should be assembled and tested before your baby comes. Things such as a crib, a bottle, car seats, etc are all essentials. You can easily buy an infant car seat online along with all of your other necessities. It is important to make sure that these things are properly installed and will not give you trouble later.

 Fill up prescriptions

If you or your significant other have certain medications that you need to take regularly, fill them. Get these prescriptions filled right before the baby comes so that you have them on hand and do not need to rush last minute. Be sure to keep an eye on your medicine cabinet and keep inventory on any first-aid that you might need later on.

Preparing for your baby can be quite challenging. Use this list to help you navigate your way around easily after childbirth.
