5 Reasons to Switch to Chic Elevated Dog Bowls for Your Home

Many pet owners want to treat their pets like they would a child. They want the best for their furry friends. This often refers to caring for them, but it also refers to ensuring that they have everything they need to live a comfortable life.

It is common for dog owners to go out and buy the best of everything for their pets. They get them customized bowls, dog beds, toys, or customized dog houses for their pets. Some owners even get clothes for their dogs to look stylish.

One thing that many dog owners forget about when it comes to giving their dogs a comfortable life is buying them elevated dog bowls.

While you might be content with your current feeder, elevated bowls offer many benefits to both you and your pet. Let’s take a look at some reasons to switch to chic, elevated dog bowls:

Reasons to Switch to Elevated Dog Bowls

1. Makes it Easier for the Dogs to Feed

Dogs don’t have the most ideal posture when it comes to eating. The taller or larger the dog, the more likely you will see them bend their bodies around the food bowl as they try to eat. If your dog eats from a bowl on the ground, it might experience problems with its joints and bones.

The constant bending over to eat can cause neck and spine problems. It can also lead to hip dysplasia, which is painful and expensive to treat.

The same goes for older dogs that may not be as mobile as they once were when they were younger. Some dogs also tend to bend down too far when eating, leading to problems with bloating and indigestion. In this case, it is even more critical that you provide your dog with elevated bowls so that they aren’t having issues after every meal.

Elevated dog bowls will allow them to stand upright while they eat, which is better for their health. The higher off the ground you can make your bowl, the less bending your dogs will have to do while eating. Many elevated feeders come with adjustable legs, so you can pick whatever height is best for your dog’s size and comfort level.

2. They Provide for a Clean Space

You don’t have to be a dog owner to know how messy dogs can be. After all, they are slobbery animals, and even the best-trained dogs can get food and water all over their face and on the floor when eating.

However, feeding your dog on the floor poses several challenges.

First of all, you must bend down to clean up after your dog. Secondly, if you have hardwood floors, you could experience damage from repeated spills on your flooring. Thirdly, picking up a standard dog bowl off the floor can be a burden for older dog owners, whereas an elevated dog bowl is much easier to access.

Additionally, when your dog eats from a bowl on the ground, it allows for dust, bacteria, and pests to enter into the food as well as on the floor itself. This makes it much easier for your pet to become sick or have other health issues.

Elevated dog bowls help keep your dog’s food off the ground, which is excellent for dogs that tend to get messy when they eat. You won’t have to worry about dust or germs getting in their food, which can be especially beneficial in homes with multiple dogs. It also means less wasted food and less cleaning for you.

3. They Are Dishwasher Safe

Taking care of a dog can be a lot of work, especially when the last thing you have time for is cleaning their water or food bowls. While you may always want your pet to drink and eat from clean bowls, sometimes you are either too tired or not in the mood to hand-clean them.

Unclean feeding bowls can expose your dog to multiple health issues and even lead to poor eating habits.

Fortunately, most elevated dog bowls are made from stainless steel, which is great because it’s easy to clean. And in that case, you can just throw them in the dishwasher! You don’t have to hand wash anything, and your dog’s food will be safe from bacteria.

4. Have a Sturdy Design

Most traditional dog bowls contact the floor when your pet eats or drinks from them. This can cause the bowls to become damaged or even cracked. Elevated dog bowls are typically raised by two or three feet off the ground to not scratch or spill.

If you’re anything like the average dog owner, you’ve probably been left with a broken or cracked bowl at some point. This often occurs when your dog’s paws are so heavy, and they want to stand on the bowl because they were begging for more food or water.

Elevated bowls have a sturdy design that absorbs impact without breaking easily, even under the weight of large dogs.

5. They are Super Modern

If you’re always on the hunt for beautiful, modern home decor and accessories, elevated dog bowls will look great in your home. They are available in dozens of attractive styles and colors, so you can find one that will complement any decor scheme. You may even be able to find a set that matches your dishes and furniture.

If you want to give a modern feel to your kitchen, try using a black or stainless steel bowl holder with matching bowls. You can also find wooden holders that work well with rustic or country decorating themes.

Good for You, Good for Your Dog

Making the switch to elevated dog bowls is a pretty simple solution that can enhance your dog’s health and well-being. Your pet will love their new food station just as much as you do. Choose a design that fits your home and matches your dog’s personality, and you’ll have a beautiful new addition to your house.
