How much time do you spend with your family? By this, we mean your whole family sitting down together and spending time with each other.
We can all but guarantee the answer is not as much as you thought when you first started reading. But, family time is important, so why are we not getting this? Well, that’s down to you. You have to make time for your family, and despite what people, it doesn’t have to be expensive to do this.
Long Family Walks
You can always go for a nice, long family walk to spend time together. Find somewhere that looks nice to walk so that you have a beautiful backdrop and this can be an amazing day. If nothing else, you get to talk to the people that you love the most in the world, and your kids will be absolutely shattered by the end of it. Seeing as exercise is good for everyone, you’re killing two birds with one stone here which makes it a massive win.
The best part about this is that it doesn’t have to cost you a penny. You can pack water and snacks to take with you so that you don’t have to stop when you are out, and walking doesn’t cost you anything. It’s a fun filled day, and certainly one that you should consider.
Movie Night!
Have you thought about having a movie night? This is a stress-free night where everyone can just sit back and relax. Take a look at some of the best family friendly movies so that whatever you pick is going to be appropriate for the kids, and then get this organized. This might mean getting a bunch of blankets and pillows, organzing the couch so that it’s super comfy. Get some movie night snacks like popcorn and sweets, and then you’re all set. It’s simple, and the only thing that you really need to pay for is the snacks.
Games Night
Last but not least, perhaps you would like to try a family game night. These can be some of the most fun that you will ever have, you just need to get involved. This can involve video games and board games depending on what you want to do, you just need to ensure that there is nobody getting left out.
If you want to be fair to everyone, you can have everyone choose a game that they would like to play and then rotate the games. This way everyone feels as though they have had a say, and everyone can enjoy!
Too many people use the excuse that they don’t have a lot of time as to why they don’t spend time with their family, but we have demonstrated quite clearly how you don’t have to be rich to be able to do this. Spending time with your family is about being together, not the things that you can do. If you teach your kids the importance of family time, then they will understand this.
