by RAKI WRIGHT

As your little one gets ready to start with early learning, it is a new phase of life for them. Consider it a new beginning for yourself as a parent because you need to play an active role in early education.

Parenting Tips: Ways To Encourage Learning at HomeThe good thing is that parents have an array of options these days. But the sheer number of choices can make the decision overwhelming. Even when you find the best educational setting, you must continue doing your bit. Learning is an ongoing process for children, and parental involvement is crucial. Here are some tips you can follow to help your child succeed with early learning.

Show the best part of the process

Parents are the first role models of kids in early childhood. It makes you responsible for showing them the best part of the process. A little effort can make learning engaging and insightful for the little ones and ensure they develop a love for it. Introduce them to education through exploring nature, cooking, reading, and counting. Beginning early at home gives them a head start at school.

Find the right early learning center

Education starts much before formal schooling, and the right choices can build a strong foundation for your child. Early childhood education goes a long way in keeping the child engaged and motivated. Invest effort in finding the right Childcare and Early Learning center for your little one. Choose one that offers a supportive environment where the child can learn the way they want to.

Understand learning styles

Every child has a unique learning style. Some kids are visual learners, while others do better with hands-on activities and movements. Yet others rely on their listening skills. Educators work on the learning style of children. But you need to understand your child’s style as a parent. Knowing it enables you to pick their interest and explain concepts using the methods that are right for your kid.

Make education a part of everyday life

Even as you send your child to a childcare center, you cannot overlook the role of learning at home. Parents must do their bit to make education a part of everyday life. Little things can take you a long way. For example, you can teach counting in the playground or explain how machines like a washer or a microwave work. You can go the extra mile by teaching life skills like sharing things with siblings and playing with other kids in the park.

Support balanced development

Early learning involves a lot of work and multiple activities at home and the childcare facility. You need to ensure balanced development by encouraging the child to hone different skills without pressure. For example, you can take them for sports and dance classes along with academics. But make sure you do not over-schedule or burden them with expectations. Trying to do too much can hamper the little one’s growth.

Parents should work in tandem with early educators to make learning fun for little ones. The goal is to create a supportive environment that enables optimal development and upbringing for the child.
