As Covid-19 presented us with greater flexibility within our work routine, we have seen the rise over time of more and more people working from home. As companies have discovered that this option can be carried out for a long period, many employees have not returned to the office since 2020!
That’s almost 2 years ago now! How have employees been coping with the work from home scheme though? From what we can conclude, some love it, however, others have become sick of the constant cycle of working in the same environment day in day out, especially if they reside in their house or bedroom for the majority of the day. Working from home can be a lonely process, especially if you are an individual who is fuelled from working with different colleagues each day and communicating constantly, but what we truly believe contributes towards your work from home experience is your home office setup. It can be a difficult one to set up, especially if you are limited with space in your home! Stay tuned as we discuss how to create a home office anywhere within your property!
Turn your spare/guest bedroom into a multi-purpose room
The likeliness is that your guest or spare bedroom is not always in use. Homeowners could also justify that their spare or guest bedroom does, in fact, act as the home’s dumping ground the majority of the time! Why not put this room to great use all year round and turn it into a multi-purpose room, meaning that your office space can move into here. If need be, move around the room and make space for a desk and chair to fit in a section of the space. You can even update the area in the process, adding additional features to brighten up the space such as new décor, wall art, or even a smart TV. A smart TV would also be beneficial in keeping you company. As discussed, it can be a long day by yourself in the home office, and lacking company can get you down. Simply turning on the TV and tuning into some news or TV shows during your breaks can lighten up your day just by hearing other individuals talk and communicate. Just make sure that your TV aerial is operational before you do so! Click here for TV aerial installation.
Create a back garden office
A back garden office is a perfect option for those creative and innovative employees with a larger disposable income that can be dedicated towards a new, out-of-home, office space. All that you truly need is a large enough back garden area and some set-in-stone plans. This process may not be the easiest one, especially if you are a DIY guru and would prefer to construct your office space yourself. However, you may also need to contact an outsourced professional company that specialise in cabin garden features. This type of office space is perfect if you want to be out with your home during work hours and can act as your own little personal office space, almost making it feel as though you are back in the public office! Kit the area out with a desk, ergonomic chair, a few electronic devices, and some accessories and you are all set to work within your back garden, under the shelter of course!
Insert a pulldown wall desk
Although the space may be quite compact with a pulldown desk, they are also easily functional and a perfect way to fill up unused wall space. Simply fix the desk to any wall within your home, we recommend that it be a wall out of the way, for example within the hallway, a bedroom, or even a section of the Kitchen, and there you have it, your very own pulldown desk that can act as a very useful section for storage too!
Utilise space within areas of your home
If you are limited in space within all aspects of your home then do not worry! The option of producing a home office space is still there, and we can provide you with some innovative and creative tips on how to do so by using different areas of your home. Your dining room is not always in use. Sometimes this is only an area used for formal dining, especially if your home features a seating area within the kitchen too. Therefore, utilise the space and bring your home office to this area! Alternatively, you could have a wardrobe clear out and use one-half of your wardrobe space to insert a shelf as a desk surface and add fold away chair. This is the perfect compact office space for those who would prefer to close off work commitments at the end of their working day. Finally, you could take the approach of removing kitchen cabinets, while keeping the surface and using this as your new office space. If your kitchen cabinets could benefit from a clear-out, then this is the perfect solution!
