20 Mexican Movies on Netflix You Should Watch

During Cinco de Mayo, Hispanic Heritage Month, or any other time of the year, there are some great Mexican movies on Netflix

During Cinco de Mayo (a celebration to commemorate the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over French forces), Hispanic Heritage Month, or any other time of the year, there are some great Mexican movies on Netflix. These movies are also a great learning resource during the school year or during over-school breaks.

When you think about Mexican History, some of these events come to mind: Cinco de Mayo, the Founding of Tenochtitlan, the Mexican War of Independence, and the Mexican Revolution.

There are so many Mexican movies on Netflix. Whether you’re looking for a TV show, movie, or documentary, you will likely find it on Netflix. Every genre is covered from Kids to Romantic Comedies to Action & Adventure.

Although there is not a “Mexican History” category in the Netflix database, after digging through Documentaries, Historical Documentaries, and Biographies, I was able to find a pretty extensive list of titles that pay homage to many important figures in Mexico’s history.

I was pleasantly surprised to find dozens of titles that celebrate, highlight, and explore stories surrounding this rich history that are well known and ones you may have never heard of.

These stories include well-publicized Mexican leaders along with some “unsung” heroes who lived in the shadows. Find a blanket, a warm beverage, and plan to get cozy as you explore and enjoy this list of binge-worthy titles about Mexican history.

This list of titles is current as of the publication of this list. Titles are subject to change at any time.
