4. “Take a deep breath before raising my voice.

How to Pull This Off:

This will definitely take some practice. You will lose your cool more than you will keep it, until this become automatic for you. I have also tried to add baby or sweetie when I am intervening or asking someone to do something for the umpteenth time. It’s really hard for me to get angry or yell when I’m calling them cute names. :) [“Lord, help me” works, too.]

5. Organize all of my photos.

How to Pull This Off:

Honestly, I haven’t even pulled this one off yet. I have thousands of pictures stored on my computer (and backed up, of course). My dilemma is that I am overwhelmed at the amount of time it would take to look at each picture to make sure it was a good one (or delete it) before printing them all out. Another option would be to print them all out and throw away any bad ones.

Walgreens and CVS often have photo prints as low as $0.10, on a regular basis. I haven’t seen a lower price. Here’s an excellent post on How to Organize and Print a Year’s Worth of Photos. I will be making time in my schedule weekly or monthly to pull this one off.

6. “Have more faith in myself as a mom and not worry so much about what other people think of my parenting.

How to Pull This Off:

Own your choices and decisions. Accept that you will make mistakes and that many parenting choices have no right answer. Do what works for you and your family and ignore the unsolicited looks, comments, and judgment.  Appreciate the child you have cultivated…and be proud.
